The Julington-Durbin Preserve is a 2,031-acre nature preserve operated by the St. Johns River Water Management District in Duval County, Florida. The preserve shares the name of the two creeks that border the preserve and connect to the St. Johns River. Julington Creek is on the north side of the preserve, and Durbin Creek is to the south.
The Julington-Durbin preserve offers seven unique communities ranging from sandhill to flatwood to floodplain swamp and marshes. The extensive trail system is ideal for walking, biking or horseback riding with some trails totaling 6.1 miles round trip. Rhonda Lovett will lead us on a tour.
We might see Prothonotary Warblers, Bachman’s Sparrows, and other species of warblers.
Meet at 13200 Bartram Park Blvd in the parking lot for the main entrance for hiking.
