Fox Lake Park

A popular county park in North Brevard, Fox Lake Park offers a variety of water and wading birds such as American Coots, Snowy Egrets, Green Herons and Anhingas. Scope for ducks in winter such as Buffleheads, Northern Pintails and Northern Shovelers. Migrant songbirds, like Red-eyed Vireo, Prairie Warbler, and American Redstart, can be found in the oaks and along the forest edges. Be on the lookout for other species such as Common Ground-Doves, Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers, Loggerhead Shrikes and Swamp Sparrows. Fox Lake and South Lake can be explored by kayak (bring your own), providing the opportunity to view Wood Stork, Swallow-tailed Kite, Tree Swallow (winter), Limpkin and the occasional Roseate Spoonbill. This family friendly park holds large community events, which take place at the large rental pavilions.
