Harry A. Laird Sr. City Park

This small wayside park has a brief boardwalk along a creek lined with hardwoods. The best time to visit this site is during spring and fall migration, for songbirds like Acadian Flycatcher, Louisiana Waterthrush and Worm-eating and Hooded Warblers. Winter visits may produce Black-and-white Warbler, Blue-headed Vireo and Ruby-crowned Kinglet. Weekend afternoons can be busy with picnickers and playground visitors, but weekdays are left for you and the birds. Traffic on highway 20 can make birding by ear difficult at times.
