AiA Grant Garden Ribbon Cutting and iNaturalist Class (Melbourne)

Help us celebrate our Audubon in Action native plant garden grant project by joining us for the ribbon cutting. The event will also include an iNaturalist class, crafts for kids, garden themed giveaways and an open hike around Hundred Acre Hollows with plant and bird experts on hand to answer questions. While walking around Hundred Acre Hollows class participants can engage in hands-on field activity to practice with the iNaturalist APP. We will also have several raffles for garden visitors and class participants.

Classroom Location: Springs of Suntree Clubhouse, 8300 Holiday Springs Rd, Melbourne, FL 32940
Ribbon Cutting and Field Activity: Hundred Acre Hollows, 1170 Rock Springs Dr, Melbourne, FL 32940

4:00 – 4:30pm Doors open – welcome, refreshments & event sign in
4:30 – 5:00pm Social time and crafts for kids
5:00 – 5:30pm iNaturalist training class (APP review and tips on use). PLEASE download the APP and set up your profile prior to class.
5:30 – 5:50pm Audubon in Action grant garden overview and welcome to alliance partners
5:50 – 6:15pm Restroom break, participant raffle and walk to garden
6:30 – 6:45pm Ribbon cutting, special raffle drawing and photo ops
6:45 – 7:45pm iNaturalist field activity and hike/walk in Hundred Acre Hollows

Please Bring: Reusable water bottle, sunscreen, bug spray

*** Special Notes** Please be aware Hundred Acre Hollows does not have restrooms on the property. Restrooms will be available at the Clubhouse. Participants are encouraged to park at the club house. Parking near the garden is limited and we’d like to keep it available for participants with limited mobility. Parking near the Hollows entrance is in a residential neighborhood. Please be mindful not to block mailboxes or driveways.

How to find us:

Park at the clubhouse lot. Volunteers will guide you to the AiA garden @ south end of the 114 acre property. South Gate will be open for people who prefer or require a shorter walk to be dropped off (driveway next to 768 Ashbury Ave, Melbourne 32940)
