Jack Rogers has donated his photographs to the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail for several years. Many of his wonderful pictures are on our website and in our publications.

The Gulf Coast workshop will take place May 20-21, and take us to several of my favorite locales in Florida to photograph seabirds, shorebirds, and wading birds. It’s timed when many species will be beach nesting and have eggs and/or chicks. We’ll also see some many waders including Reddish Egrets and Roseate Spoonbills, and finish up the workshop photographing burrowing owls. The burrowing owls will also have youngsters at that time of year. The workshop will take us to four locations and include instruction in a variety of bird photography skills including practice with flight photography. We’ll also work in a “classroom” session during the weekend that will include a chance to ask and get answered all of your questions. We’ll start on Friday morning at 7 AM at Ft. DeSoto near St. Petersburg beach and work from there, finishing up Saturday evening at the burrowing owl colony in Cape Coral.
