Space Coast Audubon Monthly Meeting and Potluck (Rockledge)
September 20 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Please join us as we kick off the 2019-2020 birding season with a potluck gathering and presentation. Doors open at 6pm. Chapter business and presentation will start at 6:30pm. Join us to learn about the exciting field trips, educational activities and community outreach event participation we have planned for the year.
Bert Alm will provide information on the Wings Over Florida program and how to apply for any certificates you have earned. Bert will also discuss the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail program and his quest to visit all 500+ trail sites. These programs are sponsored by Florida’s Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Wings Over Florida is a free bird and butterfly listing recognition program that rewards people for their Florida life list and big year list achievements. Certificates are awarded to participants when they reach one or multiple listing milestones. The programs offer 6 birding life list certificates, 1 big year birding certificate and 6 butterfly life list certificates. The Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail is a network of over 500 sites throughout Florida selected for their excellent birdwatching, wildlife viewing or educational opportunities. This 2,000-mile, self-guided highway trail is designed to conserve and enhance Florida’s wildlife habitats by promoting birdwatching and wildlife viewing activities, conservation education and economic opportunity.
Please bring a dish to share. The Chapter will provide drinks and paper products. Suggested items to bring: relish/pickle tray, veggies & dips, fruit bowl, chips & dip, salads (pasta, lettuce, chick pea, chopped), finger sandwiches (egg or chicken salad), desserts and anything in a crock pot.
Bring your birding stories and see you there!
