The entrance to Oyster Bar Marsh Conservation Area is located approximately 0.3-miles north of the entrance to Round Island Riverside Park and Conservation Area. This natural area has stabilized trails that are great for hiking and biking, a pollinator trail filled with native plants, boardwalks and a lagoon observation pier. The trail begins adjacent to a maritime hammock restoration project, and meanders one-way for 1.6 miles along the edge of lush mangroves, offering spectacular views of the Indian River Lagoon. A great spot to catch a view of passing manatees and dolphins, this conservation area is home to a wide variety of wading birds, such as Yellow-crowned Night Herons, Tricolored Herons, Roseate Spoonbills and Wood Storks. Seasonal migrants abound in the mangrove fringes and lagoon edges. Benches and a covered mangrove impoundment overlook provide a picnicking destination that is a great spot for viewing wildlife.
