Join us as we look for upland and wetland birds along the shores of Lake Harney. This site is home to an historic crossing of the Flagler Railroad, Native American shell middens, oak hammocks, and mixed hardwood swamps. This Wilderness Area also contains extensive floodplain marshes associated with Lake Harney, which serve as important feeding grounds for wading birds and as a natural filter improving water quality. This will be an easy to moderate hike. Bring water and a snack or lunch. No restrooms are available at this site. Please contact Sarah Donlan at sarahdonlan42@gmail.com for any questions and to register for the field trip.
For the safety of participants, we will be following CDC guidelines and local COVID-19 orders regarding social distancing and the wearing of masks.
