The Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail
The Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail is a network of more than 500 wildlife viewing sites across the state. It’s the go-to resource for finding the best spots to see Florida’s native birds, butterflies, and other wildlife. Locations on the Trail range from large wilderness areas to small city parks, offering a variety of experiences for nature enthusiasts of all skill levels. It’s divided into four regions: East, West, Panhandle, and South. When Floridians and tourists want to see native birds, butterflies and more, they follow iconic signs featuring a Swallow-tailed Kite to the Trail!
Every year, millions of residents and visitors enjoy birding and wildlife watching, contributing billions of dollars to Florida’s economy and fostering a deeper appreciation for the state’s wildlife and wildlands. By providing information on where and how to explore Florida’s wildlife, the Trail helps people connect with nature and conservation.
